About Nutritional Therapy
We are what we eat
Food sends information to every cell in the body which will either enhance its function or inhibit it. Good nutrition influences the function of the body, protects against disease, restores health, and determines people’s response to changes in the environment. Under certain circumstances and in some individuals, diet can be a serious risk factor for a number of diseases.
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is based on the application of nutrition-based science with the aim of promoting health and wellbeing through a personalised approach. During your one to one consultation as a nutritional therapist I can offer a wide range of tools from simple dietary and lifestyle adjustments to incorporating personalised comprehensive testing to unravel the web of health challenges that can often be complex in nature.
As a nutritional therapist I will review your body holistically meaning I can assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to your symptoms and health concerns allowing me to create a realistic and achievable personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan to support your journey towards optimising their health and wellbeing.
Being a nutritional therapy practitioner, means I consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. It is important to note that nutritional therapy is never recommended as a replacement for medical advice and I will always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. I frequently work alongside medical professionals and other healthcare professionals involved in my client’s care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.
